Women’s Excellence in Bladder Control is pleased to now offer patients an innovative new therapy for bladder control, Medtronic InterStim for Urinary Control. The practitioners of Women’s Excellence in Bladder Control, Dr. Jonathan Zaidan and Debbie Henry, NP-C, have completed the training required to test, implant, and maintain Medtronic InterStim for Urinary Control and they have been successfully treating patients with the therapy for over 3 years. With the addition of Medtronic InterStim for Bladder Control, Women’s Excellence in Bladder Control has emerged as the premier center for comprehensive bladder control for women.

Dr. Jonathan Zaidan has developed the expertise to test prospective patients for the therapy in the comfort and convenience of the office setting. Once the patient establishes that Medtronic InterStim helped their urinary symptoms, usually within a 48 hour period, a permanent implant can then be placed as a minimally invasive, same-day surgery procedure. Dr. Zaidan is known for his precise placement of the InterStim lead, which is imperative to the success of therapy. After permanent placement of the lead and generator, Medtronic InterStim can be programmed to specific settings that allow the patient to achieve the bladder control desired.

Nurse Practitioner, Debbie Henry, NP-C, has completed both the novice and advanced courses of Medtronic InterStim Programming and has become one of the most astute programmers in the Southeastern Michigan region, according to Shawnda Jackson, RN, MSN, InterStim Therapy Consultant. “With proper placement of the lead and expert follow up and maintenance of the device after the procedure, most patients take to the therapy very well. For a lot of patients, Medtronic InterStim for Urinary Control is a life changing therapy”, states Henry.
