With the prevalence of divorce and child brokenness, there is an endless amount of hurt in our society.

Apologies or attempts to move on doesn’t compare to total healing from Christ.

In her new book Chained No More, Robyn Besemann, a 12-year director of single parent family ministry, guides a 13-week curriculum of healing for the adult children of divorce.

“With the prevalence of divorce and child brokenness, there is an endless amount of hurt in our society,” says Besemann. “By receiving healing from Jesus, men and women affected by it can truly be free.”

The two-book curriculum, a leader guide and participant book, guides participants to reflect on how divorce has affected them, forgive their parents and establish their own healthy marriages.

Besemann says she created the curriculum out of a need for resources for adult children of divorce.

An effective tool for pastors and church leaders, the curriculum can also be used in Christian therapy groups and prison ministries. It also offers a unique approach to leading small group studies.

“Participants are drawn to Christ and who he says they are, instead of continuing to be defined by past hurts,” says Besemann.
