Logicalis Relocate to the Royal Exchange with Office Principles

“The selection process was easy for us – Office Principles design was first class, they totally understood the brief and their price was competitive.”

Logicalis, an international IT solution and managed service provider with a huge breadth of knowledge and expertise in communications and collaboration were excited by the prospect of moving their offices to the famous Royal Exchange building. Their vision was to create a bold, striking corporate headquarters to aid them in strengthening their position in the market as an international business. This was to be achieved through a full commercial fit out with cutting edge interior design. They also wanted to provide an inspirational environment in which to house their staff and engage with visitors and clients.

The work went out to competitive tender and Office Principles were successful based on the criteria set. Natalie Matthews, Operations Director stated, “The selection process was easy for us – Office Principles design was first class; they totally understood the brief and their price was competitive.”

This exciting relocation project was to take place in a beautiful historic building, initially built in 1565 by Sir Thomas Gresham. The original building was designed to support shops and offices around an open courtyard providing a prime place for meeting and trading. Despite being completely destroyed by fire twice, it has retained this fundamental intention. Located in Bank, in the heart of the City of London, it is now home to an unrivalled collection of shops, restaurants and offices.

Once Office Principles had been briefed by Logicalis, they started to work on initial design schemes, which quickly developed into full 3D visualisation. These designs made the most of the architectural features found within the building, notably the old style window frames, for which the ceiling detail has been carefully crafted to ensure the grandeur is left untouched. Included within the design is a magnificent reception area which showcases the latest in cutting edge technology and products produced by Logicalis. Opposite a large curved reception counter is a spectacular wall graphic which depicts the eye-catching frontage of the Royal Exchange. Office Principles also developed the design of state-of-the-art meeting rooms and training suites with telephone and video conferencing.

Office Principles were also engaged by Logicalis to project manage the whole fast track fit out which was completed successfully in only 7 weeks. Installation of a heating and cooling system, and a room booking system were included within the scope to ensure Logicalis staff and visitors had the ultimate in comfort and flexibility.

Logicalis were thrilled with the complete end to end nature of the design and build service offered by Office Principles and commented, ‘Your project management services, including onsite project management, was outstanding; the project was managed from start to finish and every person who worked on the project was an experienced expert in their field, with quality the overriding principle’.
