We are honored to welcome this group of distinguished guests. Their influence on the greater Washington, D.C., area and contributions to the community truly set them apart as Pivotal Players.

The Greater Washington Pivotal Plays® community and Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic today announced that they will be hosting the third installment of the Pivotal Plays Leadership Awards on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at USA Today's Gannett Center in McLean, Va. The event brings together leaders from sports, business, and the community to share personal views on the factors that define Pivotal Plays. The event will feature distinguished panelists and Pivotal Plays honorees Catherine Meloy, president and CEO of Goodwill of Greater Washington; Tom Davidson, co-founder and CEO of EverFi, Inc., a leading education technology company; and London Fletcher, linebacker for Washington, D.C.'s professional football team.

Veteran Comcast SportsNet anchor and reporter Chick Hernandez will serve as moderator. Mike Wise, Washington Post columnist and radio host for 106.7 “The Fan,” will serve as emcee.

“We are honored to welcome this group of distinguished guests. Their influence on the greater Washington, D.C., area and contributions to the community truly set them apart as Pivotal Players,” said Erik Ayers, vice president of marketing at MorganFranklin. “We have a great group of supporters including Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, who has been a partner from the beginning. We also recognize our growing list of business and community supporters, including Sportsworx, Lockton Companies, Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA), WNEW 99.1, and WJFK sports radio 106.7 ‘The Fan.’”

Pivotal Plays was created in 2007 by founding member MorganFranklin Corporation to applaud individuals and organizations that make big impacts but rarely get the recognition they deserve. In 2011, Pivotal Plays launched a leadership awards event that brings together business, government, community, and sports leaders whose efforts on the field, in the office, and in the community embody the Pivotal Plays mission.

Past honorees and panelists have included Bruce Allen, executive vice president and general manager of Washington, D.C.'s professional football team; Steve Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International; Shawn Henry, former executive assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch (CCRSB); and Morgan Wootten, legendary Hall of Fame head basketball coach at DeMatha Catholic High School.

The Pivotal Plays Leadership Awards begin on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 4:00 p.m. For more information or to register to attend the Pivotal Plays Leadership Awards, visit http://www.pivotalplays.com/events.
