NY SportsMed (NYSM) is pleased to announce and welcome it's newest staff member, Dr. Suzanne Gutierrez Teissonmere. She joins the Manhattan based sports medicine practice as a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation(ABPMR) and Board Certified Sports Medicine Doctor. Dr. Gutierrez Teissonmere is a graduate of Tufts University and the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. “I am very happy and extremely honored to have the opportunity to join NY SportsMed team. The environment at the office is friendly for both staff and patients,” exclaimed Dr. Gutierrez Teissonmere.
Dr. Gutierrez Teissonmere will utilize her expertise in interventional spine procedures and electrodiagnostic testing to effectively treat patients with musculoskeletal and spinal injuries. In her practice, she relies on non-surgical, minimally invasive techniques to help restore mobility, to alleviate pain and get patients back to their active routine. “My emphasis in patient care is a non-surgical approach to the management of sports and musculoskeletal injuries. Before becoming a member of the NYSM staff, Dr. Gutierrez Teissonmere served as Chief Resident at New York University, Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. She also had the unique experience of serving as a visiting resident physician in the Rehabilitation Institute of Lucy Montoro and the ‘Hospital das Clínicas’ of the University of Sao Paulo. “Suzanne has a tremendous amount of knowledge and we are delighted to have her join our team, “stated Dr. Michael Neely. Additionally, Dr. Gutierrez Teissonmere is a member of the Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has contributed to various sports medicine publications. In her spare time she enjoys exercising, dancing/choreography, and traveling. Dr. Gutierrez Teissonmere recently completed the New York City Marathon.
