A recent article in the Tahoe Tribune gave some pointers to people who are looking to start using kettlebell exercises in their workout routine.

On November 27, Lorna Kleidman issued a statement in response to a recent article in the Tahoe Tribune about the benefits of kettlebell exercises.

The popularity of kettlebell exercises has grown significantly throughout the world since their inception in the 1700’s. A recent article in the Tahoe Tribune talked about the history and various uses of the kettlebell for beginners and experienced weightlifters alike. The article stated that “because of the handle, the weight is much easier for most of my clients to hold. Also, for trainees not accustomed to lifting weights, kettlebells can be less intimidating and allow people to work harder than they might otherwise.”

The article went on to describe a recent study conducted at the University of Wisconsin that aimed to prove the effectiveness of a specific kettlebell exercise called the kettlebell snatch. “The subjects, men and women between the ages of 29 and 46 years old, continuously performed kettlebell snatches during a 20-minute period. The study funded by the American Council on Exercise found that, ‘In terms of calorie burning, these results are equivalent to running a six-minute mile pace, or cross-country skiing uphill at a fast pace.’”

Lorna Kleidman – an expert on kettlebell training – reacted to the article in a recent statement. “It is important for people to realize that kettlebell exercises are not only for experienced weightlifters. In fact, these exercises are especially intriguing for beginners precisely because they’re easy they are to use, fun and effective in transforming the body.”

Lorna Kleidman is a Three-Time World Champion and World Record holder in kettlebell sport and the most decorated kettlebell athlete in the country. She developed the innovative methods used in KettleX as a way to bring the benefits of the bells to everyone in an easy to use, comprehensive and fun format. Lorna has been teaching individuals and group classes for the past six years.
