lifeIMAGE, a national network for sharing medical images, announced today the completion of a strategic alliance with Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences that will accelerate the availability of lifeIMAGE network services across hospitals using Dell’s wide-ranging information technology services. The two companies will debut their collaborative offering at the upcoming meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
For health systems that are Dell customers, this collaboration will fast-track access to the image exchange services offered by lifeIMAGE and complement the wide range of solutions offered by Dell within its Unified Clinical Archive portfolio. This will provide customers with an end-to-end solution that includes Dell’s cloud-enabled image management and archival services, and lifeIMAGE’s medical image and information sharing capabilities.
“Medical imaging is one of the most valuable tools available to clinicians today. I know from my years of experience in an academic practice, critical pieces of a patient’s imaging history are not always available when needed,” said Andrew Litt, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences, as well as a board-certified neuroradiologist and a fellow of the American College of Radiology, with recognized expertise in neurovascular imaging. “The image and information exchange services developed by lifeIMAGE will support our customers in their efforts to deliver high quality, efficient and accountable care.”
At RSNA 2012, lifeIMAGE Connections™ will be introduced. This social clinical platform will allow physicians and patients to find and invite one another to exchange imaging information. This will better connect referring physicians and radiologists, community hospitals and tertiary care centers, and patients and expert specialists. Connections will empower Accountable Imaging™, a commitment radiology professionals are making to eradicate silos of medical imaging data.
“Working with Dell expands the lifeIMAGE network, helping more hospitals realize the benefits of medical image exchange: better patient care at a lower cost and efficient collaboration among caregivers,” noted Jim Phillips, Vice President of Enterprise Operations at lifeIMAGE.
RSNA attendees are invited to learn more about the partnership at the conference by visiting the lifeIMAGE booth (#9036) or the Dell booth (#8908).
