LATISTA’s continued innovation in field management has propelled it’s extensive advancement of Building Information Model (BIM) in the field. Today, LATISTA announced it has advanced the capabilities with its BIM in the Field initiative with the introduction of 3D BIM viewer with interactive capabilities for its Apple iPad field software.

LATISTA’s interactive BIM viewer is capable of rendering complex BIM models and produces more frames per second and better anti-aliasing than other available Apple iPad BIM viewers, allowing for smoother, faster, and easier navigation through complex building models. Users can more quickly identify issues and find solutions while in the field, without having to return to the trailer, all from their Apple iPad devices.

“Building on our success with introducing the fastest PDF rendering technology on the market, our BIM solution in testing performs better than other available Apple iPad BIM viewers. We are excited to demonstrate this industry leading innovation.” according to Chris Ramsey, COO of LATISTA Technologies, Inc.

By importing BIM data into LATISTA Cloud from compatible BIM design and management software such as Autodesk Revit or Autodesk Navisworks, model data can be fully integrated with LATISTA data. Once imported, models can be instantly synchronized to field users.

The result is an easy-to-use visual 3D construction model fully available in the field. Users will be able to find construction items and visualize such items in the model. Further, users will be able to initiate quality, commissioning, and general issue workflows right from the model, attaching photos and marking up documents to clarify next steps and document “as-built” status without having to leave the application.

This pre-release software will be available for demonstration at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, NV from November 27th to the 29th and is set for beta release in the Spring of 2013.

The integrated BIM in the Field tool compliments LATISTA’s most comprehensive in the industry solution for quality, commissioning, safety and documents. LATISTA’s award winning mobile and cloud platform serves the needs of contractors, owners and subcontractors world wide.
