There’s a great range of fun, and at the same time, sensible, warm children’s clothing out there at the moment.

Snow, sleet and rain has no say in winter – thanks to the new range of warm thermal clothing this year from kiddies online outdoor wear and gear shop Wellies and Worms.
Classic designers such as Scandinavian outfitters Didrikson and Helly Hansen together with Kozykidz and Spotty Otter are set to ensure little ones are as snug as the proverbial bug this coming season with a new range of jackets and outdoor wear.
Take, for instance, the new Melvin printed waterproof jacket and jaunty dungaree set from Didriksons. The fully-taped seams ensure no loose snowflake is going to intervene with a child’s cosy factor while the arms and legs can increase in size to ensure the children’s jacket and dungaree set lasts not just one winter but two or even three.
There are reflective strips to ensure children are safe walking home from school during dark days and an adjustable chin guard to allay any tears from biting cold winds.
Little girls are sure to love wearing the bright and funky Whistler pink salopettes from Kozikidz. These are not just fully waterproof but the material is breathable and the children’s salopettes come with an equally snazzy jacket to match. As an added incentive the salopettes are reduced by as much as £10 at the moment.
Wellies and Worms owner Graham Cox said: “There’s a great range of fun, and at the same time, sensible, warm children’s clothing out there at the moment.
“Salopettes and dungarees are selling particularly well. I think it’s basically because they’re so easy to wear and wash. They’re light-weight too which means there isn’t a lot of heavy carrying around to be done by mum and dad.”
Those who like to see their little ones co-ordinated will be impressed too by Hatley’s cosy hat and mitts sets. Their snazzy stripy collection comes in pink for girls and blue for boys while their polar fleece range features birds and dinosaurs.
Bigger girls may be more interested in Hatley’s white dots on red mittens. Not only do these have a polar fleece lining but they’re made from 100 per cent polyurethane so are as tough as old boots. These are available up to seven years of age and of course there is a fabulous all weather waterproof coat to match. This un-missable jacket has a quilted lining, detachable hood and decorative buttons – all the extras that make a coat special.
Trendy tots have already been spotted sporting Helly Hansen’s very action man-like K Rider Beanie, with the New Wasabi shade a particular favourite.
To really top this winter in style though the way to go is with Spotty Otter’s Patrol Trapper hat. This doesn’t just feel cozy, it even looks it. It has a fleece and faux fur lining and is both waterproof and windproof. Adults may be disappointed to learn these are only available from ages 18 months to 14.
