Working on the core elements that make a family strong and confident about its future together is the choice we made in developing this series.

The Art of FamilyTM series of modules specializes in ‘entrepreneurial familying’ – or the art of effectively addressing and governing family dynamics in family business systems. The new methods and tools presented are oriented towards strengthening the Enterprising Family Entity which is so crucial to the long-term sustainability of the family business.
“Working on the core elements that make a family strong and confident about its future together is the choice we made in developing this series,” explains Dr. Pascale Michaud, President of BFF.
From defining ‘who is family,’ to exploring how family members can be encouraged to actively participate in the governance of the family by reflecting upon video case stories, to practicing with the processes and tools presented, this new series provides a holistic understanding of the trust and communication building needed to successfully navigate issues and conflict. The modules, also available on all handheld and mobile devices, feature animated concepts, reflection sections, a case study, expert video clips, optional audio explanations and dialogues, self-assessments, activities, suggested readings, as well as private discussion and a sharing space.
“Why would a family in business bother to spend precious time dealing with the family component? The reason we give is that we are thinking of our grandchildren and asking how are they going to deal with the responsibilities and challenges in the future, as members of an entrepreneurial family, active family owners of their family assets, as well as responsible members of their community,” add Philippe and Nan-b de Gaspé Beaubien, Founders of BFF and Co-Chairs of the Board.
The first module of The Art of FamilyTM is now available in English. French and Spanish versions will be released soon. Additional modules of The Art of FamilyTM series, covering topics ranging from successful family bonding activities to the succession and transition process in family leadership roles, will be released throughout 2013 and 2014.
