Following an article on more vegetarian restaurants being opened, Quorn Foods responds to the news with other ways to get vegetarian meals.

On November 26th 2012, Quorn Foods Inc. responds to a Capital Gazette article by Terra Walters regarding the increase of vegetarian dining options making easy vegetarian meals more accessible to those who are staying meat-free.

According to the Capital Gazette article, the only option offered to vegetarians at most restaurants are salads and green beans, but more vegetarian-friendly restaurants are popping up. The article mentions that restaurants such as India’s, offer roasted eggplant, and chopped vegetables cooked in a tomato sauce. According to India’s owner Suraj Kumar, “We have several vegetarian and vegan dishes, and they are so good that they appeal to everyone.”

The article mentions foods such as delicious pizzas being offered in the vegetarian variety. According to David Clarke, new owner of 214 Talbot, “In our Wild Mushroom Pizza, we use oyster mushrooms, shiitakes, portobellos and smoked gouda. We finish it with arugula. It has been very well-received.”

Quorn Foods Inc. understands how hard it is for vegetarians and flexitarians to find a restaurant with vegetarian options and offers other ways to get easy vegetarian meals. “It is great to see restaurants catering to the meat free audience,” says Quorn Foods representative David Wilson. “Another way to get delicious vegetarian meals is through eating Quorn. We offer many great tasting meat alternative dishes, as well as other tasty and healthy vegetarian meals to satisfy vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.”

Quorn launched nationally in the US in 2002. Unlike other vegetarian food companies, Quorn uses mycoprotein: a naturally occurring, healthy form of protein that replicates the taste and texture of meat while being significantly lower in saturated fats and calories than meat substitutes. Quorn offers a wide range of products including ready to serve meals, food for your barbecue, breaded meat substitutes, snacks and components to make your own meals from scratch. The wonderful taste of Quorn meatless meals provides the taste of the foods you love without sacrificing nutrition.
