No two patients experience pain in the same way or at the same level. We are now able to provide Ulthera treatments under twilight anesthesia, which means that the procedure can now be experienced by virtually everyone.
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) November 27, 2012
Babak Azizzadeh, MD, FACS, and Jodi Huisman, RN, BSCN, of the CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, are pleased to announce the addition of new Ulthera facial rejuvenation treatment performed under twilight anesthesia. Non-surgical Ulthera treatment aims to fight the aging process by improving skin elasticity, tightening facial and neck skin and lifting sagging tissues. The procedure is often performed in office; however, the treatment can bring varied levels of discomfort to patients undergoing the procedure, which is why Dr. Azizzadeh is now providing the treatment under anesthesia.
“No two patients experience pain in the same way or at the same level. We are now able to provide Ulthera treatments under twilight anesthesia, which means that the procedure can now be experienced by virtually everyone,” said Dr. Azizzadeh, facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills.
Twilight anesthesia is a very mild dose of anesthesia that offers patients the ability to undergo non-invasive treatments without having to experience unwanted lethargy following the procedure. During twilight anesthesia, the patient is actually not unconscious, but mildly sedated. Because of this, the patient can be brought out of sedation immediately following the treatment. Twilight anesthesia is extremely safe when administered by a board certified anesthesiologist and offers none of the unwanted after affects of general anesthesia.
Patients who elect to undergo the procedure with twilight anesthesia will receive treatment at La Peer Health Systems in Los Angeles, an outpatient surgery center which provides excellent patient care along with the most advanced technological procedures.
“We use twilight anesthesia to help patients feel more comfortable about undergoing an Ulthera treatment. Knowing that they won’t experience any pain really puts their mind at ease,” said Dr. Azizzadeh.
Undergoing Ulthera treatment under twilight anesthesia generally takes around one hour or less to complete. After the patient is brought out of anesthesia, they are able to rest and recover at La Peer until being released by their surgeon.
“Because of the ease that comes with twilight anesthesia, patients often feel great upon awakening and head home to continue with their daily activities almost immediately,” said Dr. Azizzadeh.
