Hallmark ornaments are incredibly popular, so we’re very grateful to the Dorsey’s as well as the H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.S. club for the donation. We’re sure the tree will raise a lot of money thanks to them
Oakhurst, CA (PRWEB) November 22, 2012
The local Hallmark store and ornament collectors donated over $600 worth of the popular decorations to the Children’s Museum of the Sierra for the annual Christmas Tree Auction.
The donations came from Dave and Linda Dorsey, owners of Dorsey’s Hallmark in Oakhurst, as well as members of the H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.S. (How Ornament Lovers In Denial All Year Survive) club, a group of Hallmark ornament enthusiasts.
The ornaments will be used to decorate a tree, donated by Bill and Carol Attwood, for the annual Christmas Tree Auction taking place November 2 at the Bass Lake Events Center.
“Hallmark ornaments are incredibly popular, so we’re very grateful to the Dorsey’s as well as the H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.S. club for the donation. We’re sure the tree will raise a lot of money thanks to them,” said Jarrod Lyman, President of the museum’s board of directors.
The auction is in its 11th year and raises money for local non-profits by selling decorated Christmas Trees and wreaths along with a silent auction. In addition to the tree, the museum will also have a wreath adorned with decorations painted by kids during museum art classes.
Tickets for the auction are $30 or four for $100 and can be purchased at Sierra Telephone, Foster & Parker Insurance or on the website. Admission includes hors d'oeuvres and complimentary champagne at 3 p.m. with bidding for the live auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. For more information, go to http://www.biddingforgood.com/bgcoakhurst or call 559-683-9000.
