DSM Legal solicitors have announced they will be donating towards the Jago Worrall Foundation as part of their annual Christmas charity pledge.
The legal organisation, based in Warrington Cheshire, have a long established history of selecting a charity for a Christmas donation, with this year’s being a particularly special and sensitive foundation.
The Jago Worrall Foundation was set up by Lyn and Barney Worrall in support of their two year old son Jago, after he suffered a severe brain injury during a tragic accident at home. After the incident, Jago was given a one per cent chance of survival, with hospital staff predicting the worst due to the lack of oxygen to his brain.
However, despite the prediction, Jago is still fighting and has since been transferred to Tadworth Court in Surrey a leading paediatric brain rehabilitation centre. It is unclear how his accident will affect the rest of his life, however he will need ongoing intensive therapy including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and Hydrotherapy.
Parents Lyn and Barney are doing everything they can in support of their son to give him the best chance of a happy and successful life, all of which lead to the creation of the trust in order to fund Jago’s long-term treatment and care. Speaking on behalf of the foundation they have stated:
“It is very early days for us and we are focusing all of our energies into Jago’s rehabilitation... Eventually we would like to develop the foundation into a resource that can provide parents with more support and access to relevant information.”
The organisation is now in desperate need of support, and his incredible story has lead to DSM offering their support during the holiday season. Speaking on behalf of the company Diane Massey, Principal and head of Civil Litigation and Employment Law stated, “We were touched by the remarkable story of Jago and everything his parents are trying to do to ensure a happy and normal life for him as well as their other two boys.
“Situations such as this are rare, yet unfortunately they can still occur, so it is touching to see the dedication Lyn and Barney have as well as the support they wish to give to others. Being able to talk to somebody in a similar situation is vital to both comfort and manage expectations, and we wish them all the best of luck.
