The Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County is teaming up with the American Diabetes Association to hold the 2nd annual JCC Fitness Palooza on December 9 from 8 am to noon. This unique fitness experience for ages 14 and up will be an extravaganza made up of a Zumbathon, Cycle-thon, Group X-athon, Mind/ Body classes (yoga, Pilates), fitness challenge, silent auction and vendor fair. The event is free to attend and is open to the entire community to enjoy. Sponsoring vendors include: Whole Foods, Adia Nutrition, American Diabetes Association, California Closets, ET Chiropractic, Longevity, OC Great Park, PureFit Bar, SevenPoint2, Silver For A Song and Einhalten Clothing. Recently named one of the best gyms in Orange County, the Merage JCC Fitness Center wants to be a community partner in fighting this deadly disease. A portion of the proceeds raised in this event will go to the American Diabetes Association for research and education. In addition to the ADA benefiting from this event, the Merage JCC will use a portion of the funds raised to invest in its Largest Loser Weight Loss program. This program, now in its 5th season, has helped participants shed over 2700 pounds and helped them fight Type 2 Diabetes.
The Merage JCC was recently voted one of the best gyms in Orange County in the Orange County Register's Best of OC. This is the third consecutive year the Merage JCC Fitness Center has achieved this recognition. The Merage JCC FitnessCenter has a large workout room featuring panoramic views and closed circuit TVs. Equipment includes PreCor, TKO, Star Trac, Paramount, Icarian and more. Personal training and Pilates Reformer Training are also available to help members achieve their fitness goals.More than 60 free group exercise classes are offered each week for members including yoga, spinning, Zumba®, Pilates, cardio kickbox, low impact aquatics and a variety of classes for every fitness level.
