Let your mind and body experience the calming serenity offered exclusively at The Woods Spa, an Aveda destination spa, where our therapists provide each spa guest with a pre-treatment consultation, delicious complementary Aveda tea, and soothing Aveda spa services and products. With Aveda products, you can feel good about using pure plant and flower essences sourced from indigenous farmers and high post-consumer recycled packaging.

Located at the southwest entrance of the PA Wilds region in the Cook Forest State park, The Lodge has access to a variety of winter activities. The woodland is a national landmark featuring a cathedral forest of old growth hemlock and white pine. The winter months offer a captivating landscape complete with sparkling snowfall and emerald evergreens. Elk viewing is featured at the Elk Country Visitors Center where the wild herd can be seen in its natural environment.

Built in 1934, Gateway Lodge still features its original chestnut timber and stone chimney. Open year round, the Lodge has 23 fireside Jacuzzi suites complete with private balconies.

The Lodge Restaurant offers a menu of local and fresh fine foods, meticulously prepared by a culinary staff that places a heavy emphasis on inspired cuisine. Pairings are available from an award winning selection of vino, which has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for three years running.

The Gateway Lodge and Black Bear Cabins are privately owned by Deb Adams, who believes deeply in contributing to her community. The Lodge and Cabins have partnered with multiple area businesses to offer educational workshops on topics such as nature, art, nutrition and wellness. The Gateway Restaurant is a fine dining destination that sources much of its fare from local farmers. The Lodge and Cabins also participate in the PA Wilds Artisan Trail by exhibiting works from local artists.
