A new campaign by Scottish Women’s Aid is focusing on the reasons why women cannot leave an abusive relationship. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-20476027 The aim is to raise awareness of the reality faced by abused women and how people around them can help to make it stop.
It is hoped that this work will encourage people to come forward and report incidents of violence in the run up to Christmas and the New Year. Confidences in the justice system along with a change in attitude are among some of the tactics in the winter campaign.
