The Medicalis Content Author is designed to enable our customers to encode their own local standards of care to compliment available national medical society guidelines
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 26, 2012
Medicalis, a provider of information-driven clinical, workflow and quality healthcare software, announced at the Radiology Society North America (RSNA) annual conference, being held November 25-29, 2012 in Chicago, it has recently partnered with Applied Pathways to offer a Content Author software solution to Medicalis’ customers. The new program enables healthcare providers to establish customized quality of care standards with respect to imaging across their entire enterprise system.
“The Medicalis Content Author is designed to enable our customers to encode their own local standards of care to compliment available national medical society guidelines,” said Oran Muduroglu, president and CEO of Medicalis. “Applied Pathways offers a robust, cloud-based technology based on a completely open architecture. This allows for the direct consumption of input data by the Medicalis Decision Support Server which in turn, automatically deploys this information throughout the customer site as part of the site’s existing electronic medical record integration, workflow and analytics frameworks.”
The new Content Author program is a significant tool to assemble logic components in an effort to deliver unambiguous, executable knowledge to physicians when ordering imaging tests. The user friendly interface of Content Author empowers clinicians and local medical directors to easily encode the facility’s specific standards to ensure the highest quality of care.
“The first step is for the clinician to decide where they wish to extend or modify the currently available guideline for their clinical domain,” said Muduroglu. “This will determine what content should be encoded into the Content Author. By providing a user-friendly interface, the physician is able to establish these standards and create a decision tree based on the patient’s medical history, such as prior normal or abnormal imaging test results, all in support of outstanding patient care.”
The Medicalis Content Author is commercially available today. It is being demonstrated at RSNA in the company’s booth, South Hall, #6240, along with other Medicalis software solutions for radiology.
