Telephone Compromise Agreement Service Launched By The Legal Partners

UK employees facing redundancy or dismissal can receive expert legal advice on their Compromise Agreement either, in person or by telephone, thanks to the latest service offered by The Legal Partners.

Employees facing redundancy or dismissal are required, by law, to receive independent legal advice before signing a Compromise Agreement, Often, this consultation will be face-to-face. However, The Legal Partners are now offering a UK wide telephone service, where employees can receive expert advice on their Compromise Agreement, without having to travel.

By signing a Compromise Agreement, an employee agrees to give up his rights in exchange for any future claims such as unfair dismissal, redundancy and discrimination on the basis of disability, sex, race and age. It is important for an employee to receive impartial advice at this time. Not only does this establish that the proposed offer is reasonable and whether, in some circumstances, this settlement could be improved, but also ensures that the employee is aware that they can ask for certain terms such as a job reference.

“Having the option of either coming to our Richmond office or having the hour long consultation over the telephone is important for our clients” observes Richard Mullett of The Legal Partners. “The process will be broadly similar – there will be an initial telephone call to discuss the situation and the required paperwork before a date is set for the face-to-face meeting or the telephone consultation”.
