In autumn 2012, Geothermie Neubrandenburg GmbH (GTN) opened an office in Berlin, which will also serve as the new head office of the Icelandic consulting firm Mannvit in Germany, thus extending their network as German and Icelandic market leaders in the field of deep geothermal energy utilization. The close cooperation within the framework of the Mannvit group covering geology, underground and reservoir modeling as well as the construction of heat and power generation plants allows for the optimal pooling of the expertise of GTN and Mannvit at the new site. Along with the coordination of international projects, the focus of the new office is on timely, quality consulting in the fields of geothermal energy and groundwater management to customers in the Berlin and Brandenburg area. The proximity to the relevant Federal ministries, as well as the development of new opportunities for the extension of their research activities at the internationally renowned scientific center of Berlin were important aspects when selecting the new location.
The new office is headed by the geologist Johannes Birner who has been active in numerous projects dealing with deep geothermal energy use since 2006.
GTN is a geothermal engineering and geological consulting firm in Germany. GTN specializes in geothermal development of low enthalpy basins, reservoir modelling, well design and drilling supervision, CO2 storage and EGS technology. http://www.gtn-online.de
