Stolen Toilet Seat

“I’m just sayin’… the thief has to be pretty hard up for some money or something in order to be stealing a used toilet seat. I would never consider taking a toilet seat from a public place and my name is ‘Poopy’ after all.” - Kevin "Poopy"

According to Kevin "Poopy" Promenschenkel, the owner of Poopy's Pub & Grub, earlier this year, some loathsome human being did the unthinkable. This very special person actually stole a used toilet seat. Yes, you heard it right. The toilet seat had been used for a short time at Poopy’s Pub & Grub in Savanna. Now you've really got to wonder, what makes a toilet seat so special that someone would want to steal it from a bar, let alone a bar named ‘Poopy’s.’

Here's Poopy's story: About a month prior to the theft, a company located in Thomson, IL, AquaPrint Solutions, donated several "designer" toilet seats to Poopy’s Pub & Grub as a promotion for a new line of unique toilet seats. AquaPrint Solutions, using a special liquid transfer process, "dipped" these special seats, creating rather remarkable and unusual patterns.

The process transforms ordinary toilet seats into modern day works of art. AquaPrint Solutions gave toilet seats to Poopy's with unique patterns including camouflage, rebel flags, skulls, snake skin, barbed wire and riveted metal. The toilet seats were installed in the bathrooms at Poopy’s for just under a month. Poopy's received tons of comments about these unusual seats.

As Aimee Kauglin, an employee at Poopy's Pub & Grub, was passing from stall to stall one morning, she noticed that there was something missing. It took a second to set in, but she finally realized that a particular toilet was missing its signature toilet seat. She couldn’t believe that someone had actually stolen a "used" toilet seat. The thief got away with the prized riveted metal pattern seat. Apparently this was his favorite.

“Poopy” had this to say about the pilfering, “I’m just sayin’… the thief has to be pretty hard up for some money or something in order to be stealing a used toilet seat. I would never consider taking a toilet seat from a public place and my name is ‘Poopy’ after all.” Poopy went on to say that he would offer a free steak dinner to the person who turns in the culprit.

Over the past several years, Poopy’s Pub & Grub has made their mark as Illinois’ largest biker destination and one of the premier biker destinations in the Midwest. During the summer months they play host to tens of thousands of bikers and general party goers alike.

Because of this extremely unusual theft, AquaPrint Solutions has noticed an incredible interest in this truly unique product and have since developed a product line around the seats called, “Seats of Anarchy”. Their website, http://www.SeatsOfAnarchy.com, has pattern and color combinations for almost everyone. They make a truly unique gift for the holidays. Basically, if they are cool enough to steal, you might just want to save the time and energy and simply buy one. And, it's a lot easier on Poopy and his crew.

The new website demonstrates the unique transfer process and details how the patterns get on to the seats. A large selection of pattern choices, pricing options, and ordering information can also be found on the Seats Of Anarchy site.
