IVAMS Arbitration and Mediation Services, a leading dispute resolution firm serving Southern California, recently welcomed a new member to its panel of expert neutrals. Honorable J. Michael Welch, Retired, Presiding Judge of the San Bernardino Superior Court.

Judge J. Michael Welch was appointed by Governor Wilson, November 16th 1995; elected a commissioner by the San Bernardino Superior Court, 1990; deputy public defender, San Bernardino County, 1987-90; associate, Johnston & Hudson, 1985-87; Cole & Welch, 1983-85; partner, Banks, Johnston & Welch, 1971-82; deputy district attorney, San Bernardino County, 1968-71.

Judge J. Michael Welch doesn't rattle easily, that's what makes him so effective, "He is unflappable." Retired Judge Christopher J. Warner said. Retired Judge Joseph Johnston, Welch's former law partner and colleague on the San Bernardino County bench who now works for IVAMS, said "Welch is an excellent problem solver," "He is blessed with the gift of reason and he will make a wonderful neutral at IVAMS."

A self-proclaimed "sport nut," he closely follows USC football and basketball games and roots for the Anaheim Angels.
