I thought I’d create a gallery not only for our own artists to show their multi-dimensional talent, but also for local artists and students to showcase their work.
Salem, MA (PRWEB) November 28, 2012
Salem Ink Tattoo is pleased to announce the permanent opening of The Wormhole Gallery at 231 Washington Street, and a new schedule of featured local artists and events.
“I recently returned to Salem State University to further my education with an advanced degree in painting,” said Michael “Loki” LaChapelle owner of Salem Ink Tattoo, “and I discovered that the gallery space at the University was small and underserved. I learned that a space close to my shop had become available and I thought I’d create a gallery not only for our own artists to show their multi-dimensional talent, but primarily for local artists and especially students to showcase their work. It was also very important to me to make the art available for the public to buy at reasonable prices not just to help the artists get established, but also to get people excited about being able to own original works of art.”
Each month the gallery will feature a revolving roster of local artists and their work in many media, and will also make that work available for sale or just appreciation. There will be scheduled events on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons with varying visits by the artists to discuss their work with the public, along with the general viewing. Each month a different medium or style will get the spotlight, and art education events will be held for people interested in that particular subject.
