According to AMC, the technical sector offers great opportunities for a six-figure income, especially in management however; software developers, with a median salary nearing $90,000, have the best chance at finding a job with a six-figure income. Technical sales and sales engineer jobs have also historically been high paying jobs.
As for other specific job titles affording the best opportunities those at the top of the list are (CFO); Senior-level Human resource managers; Vice President (or Director) of Business Development; senior level internet Marketing Managers; and Vice President of Operations.
AMC also noted that well-paying jobs below six-figures are: Occupational Therapist, Computer Programmer, Physical Therapist, Computer Systems Analyst, Web Developer, Database Administrator, Medical Assistant, Pharmacist, Software Developer, and Registered Nurse. According to the Overland Park firm, some of these jobs can reach six-figures, but it is not common and not well reflected in their median incomes.
“The job market is tight, as everyone knows,” says a spokesman for AMC in Tampa, “but executives need to look for careers using improved job hunting skills and tools. Executives won’t find the next career by re-training, but they can find it by re-careering. That is by using their most transferrable skills to look into new industries, and / or job functions.”
AMC has seen an increase in executive career search outcomes this year despite the drab job market, for their clients, who they feel have out-pace the general job-seeking public.
