Monolution have always found it difficult to say no to its customers, but like so many other companies a point is often reached where letting down loyal customers becomes a real possibility especially when loaded to full capacity.
The first step in Monolution’s latest phase of expansion is the acquisition of another unit adjacent to existing units. This has given rise to the introduction of a dedicated pattern shop and composite machining facility moving into unit 3, medium range machines in unit 4 and small cell machining in unit 6 which also enables Monolution to offer a streamlined process routing for optimised prototype and small batch production. Parallel with these changes the company have also modernised their manufacturing centre and now have more efficient and cleaner working conditions. Floors have been painted and there is a new service provision for air, power and data, in addition to a general upgrade of many of the onsite facilities.
Lastly, in responding to changing market conditions further capital investment has been made in more 5 axis machining capacity in the form of a CMS Antares 2615 PX5 which expands the 3 dimensional capabilities on offer. According to Monolution MD Dean Cleverley "Never slow to react to change, we had also noticed a subtle shift in the envelope size being requested for soft tooling and composite machining ”.
