The number of search queries for the term ‘content marketing’ has more than doubled in the past two years revealing that interest and excitement is building around the term. Although it is not a new type of marketing, more and more are becoming aware of its importance.
According to Custom Content Council and Contentwise, marketers are increasing how much of their budgets they devote to content marketing with 79% of all marketers reporting a move towards branded content at a moderate or aggressive pace.
‘Record high outsourcing dollars are being spent on external agencies such as custom publishers, PR/Social media firms, design firms, ad agencies and interactive agencies which are handling aspects of branded content,’ explained a spokesperson from Custom Content Council and Contentwise.
Over half of all companies involved in the survey (57%) explained that the main reason for outsourcing content marketing was to save time, even though it can be pricey.
