Orange Sunshine is about fruit, mango, first followed by some sweetness and a savory umami background, and only finally by the deep back-heat and flavor of the habaneros.

Loud Foods® new Orange Sunshine Mango Habanero Sauce really rocks just like its creator, record producer/musician William Wittman. The new sauce scored a big hit in the 2013 Scovie Awards, the world’s most competitive spicy food competition.
The new sauce was named a Scovie Award winner in the all natural hot sauce category in October, said Wittman, who tours as bass guitarist with singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper and who has numerous credits as a producer for Lauper, The Fixx, Joan Osborne, The Outfield and others.
Although Wittman’s new sauce is spicy, it is not a typical vinegar-based hot sauce. Like a rockin’ record, Orange Sunshine Mango Habanero Sauce has its own non-traditional mix of flavors. “Orange Sunshine is about fruit, mango, first followed by some sweetness and a savory umami background,” he said, “and only finally by the deep back- heat and flavor of the habaneros.”
The versatile sauce has more uses than a diva has costume changes. Orange Sunshine is a sweet and spicy sauce that is fabulous on fish or shellfish, Wittman says. It also works well as a spicy sauce for chicken and a gluten free barbecue sauce for grilled meats.
“We’re very excited our sauce was recognized for excellence by the Scovie Awards so soon after it was released,” says Wittman, who founded the company earlier this year with Barbara Solomon as sales director. A love of food and of watching people enjoy his kitchen creations spurred him to experiment with his own recipes. After listening to people’s rave reviews and requests for more of his mango habanero sauce, Wittman decided to produce it commercially and meticulously sought the right ingredients to produce as fresh a taste as possible. Rice wine vinegar and Dijon mustard add tang to the sweet mango while a touch of honey rounds out the flavors of the fiery habanero.
“Mash up an avocado with a bit of lime juice, and you have a guacamole,” Wittman said. “That’s a good thing, but add an ounce of Orange Sunshine, and you have a mango habanero guacamole, and that’s special. Best of all, we did the work of balancing the sweet, savory, acid and hot elements of great food for you.”
The Scovie Awards is an annual competition that recognizes the top fiery foods products in the world, according to the award website. The awards were named after the Scoville scale, a measurement of the spicy heat of a chile pepper. The 2013 competition drew a record 805 entries from companies around the world.
