The timing is perfect as we ramp up our social media research practice with the upcoming publication of several related benchmark reports.

Gleanster today announced that social media industry veteran Jake Wengroff has joined the company as a research analyst. Wengroff will help lead Gleanster’s social media research practice, focusing on such topics as Social Media Marketing, Social Media Analytics, Social Media Monitoring, Enterprise Collaboration and Online Customer Communities.
Wengroff previously served as global director of social media strategy and research for Frost & Sullivan, where he provided industry practitioners with strategic guidance through Frost & Sullivan’s Market Engineering, Market Insights and Best Practices research reports. He is a regular contributor to InformationWeek, CMO.com, Social Media Today, and other leading publications and has served as chairman of GSMI’s Social Media Strategies Summit.
“I’m thrilled to join a fast-growing research firm that ‘gets it," said Wengroff. “I have great respect the research methodology, as Gleanster is focused on understanding the experiences of industry practitioners and how they’re achieving success as well the benefits of the different technology solutions.”
In addition to benchmarking best practices, Wengroff will cover trends and issues affecting today’s social business practitioners. One such trend is the consumerization of IT, in which employees within an organization are demanding the same types of tools and resources -- mobility, social platforms, etc. -- in the workplace that they use on a personal level in order to improve job performance. “This, of course, leads to the concept that social business is not just social media,” said Wengroff. “A social business adopts the communicative properties of social media across all levels of the enterprise in efforts to seek efficiencies or new revenue opportunities.”
“We’re delighted to have Jake on board and are confident that his joining will provide exponential value for the Gleanster community and the industry as a whole,” said Jeff Zabin, research director at Gleanster. “The timing is perfect as we ramp up our social media research practice with the upcoming publication of several related benchmark reports as well as a large number of co-branded webinars and Deep Dive analyst reports.”
Gleanster benchmarks best practices in technology-enabled business initiatives, delivering actionable insights that allow companies to make smart business decisions and match their needs with vendor solutions. As the first market research firm to "go open," we also aggregate thought leadership in the form of white papers and research reports from third-party sources, including solution providers — who, for their part, can create and maintain their own Vendor and Solution Showcases on Gleanster to help further educate the marketplace.
