Segway of Oakland has introduced the first Segway training and event package for Segway Polo fun and company Team Building. Segway Polo is one of the newest organizational activities around. The Segway PT, a machine like no other, substitutes for the horse. The field is a little smaller and the game play ends up being somewhat different, but nothing beats Segway Polo for fun and excitement. It is a perfect company team building event.

"With 15 units and our experienced team of Segway trainers we can provide some serious fun for groups of 15 to 45," said Darren Romar from Segway of Oakland.

The Segway Polo training event is great for groups and includes a series of training, tours, and relays as a buildup to riding in a Segway polo game. There's a lot to learn in a short time but the Segway is surprisingly easy to figure out, even though it's still new to most people. It operates like no other vehicle but it is intuitive because it moves according to the riders own body movement. Someone can become a pretty decent rider after a single training session on the machine.

Segway Polo has really taken off in a many of parts of the world. China has hundreds of players and a few competitive teams. Well known personalities such as Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, and Steve Steinberg from Segway of Oakland are well known Segway Polo players in the Bay Area. Segway of Oakland frequently has players and units at games in the Bay Area. A great way to get started with Segway Polo is a company or organizational Polo Event from Segway of Oakland.

The normal venue in the Bay Area is Aquatic Park in Oakland. Aquatic Park is adjacent to Jack London Square and has a soccer field for playing polo. The proximity to the paths and waterfront boardwalks at Jack London Square give us some access to the pathways where we practice, and do a short ride through Jack London Square prior to some relays training courses and Polo playing.

Segway of Oakland allows for up to 4 hours of event time and in that time goes through a lot in terms of training for Segway riding as well as playing polo. So there is significant practice time spent riding and getting accustomed to the Segway before starting to creating some teams and then execute a real Segway Polo game.

The game is refereed and conducted according to official Segway Polo rules used for the annual Segway Polo tournament know as the Woz Cup and which is a small tournament that takes places in a different country/venue each year. It is the official world championship of Segway polo, and teams from all over the world come to play at the Woz Cup tournament.

Segway Polo is catching on not only in China and Europe but also in the USA. It is a very unusual sport, but think about riding the Segway and then playing a game of Segway polo. It's a great event because there is a lot to do.

And with Segway of Oakland's highly experienced guides, there is nobody better to do a Segway event with than Segway of Oakland. That's because Segway of Oakland has more experience with Segway events than anybody else. And nobody has the unique options like Segway Polo that Segway of Oakland offers.

15 units with 5 guides and training and equipment for 4 hrs at Jack London square is only $999 during the 2012-13 winter special which is $899 off the regular price for an event with this many parts and detail. Call 1-800-659-8731 and ask for the Special Polo Event.
