The School Supplies Gift Program, sponsored by the Utah personal injury attorneys at Christensen & Hymas, is pleased to announce that Ms. Jeanne Simpson, a 4th grade teacher at Grant Elementary School, and Ms. Natalie Larsen, a 10th and 11th grade English teacher at Lehi High School, are the newest recipients of the Golden Apple Award.
Ms. Jeanne Simpson was nominated for the award by a dear friend and colleague who said that Ms. Simpson, “is an unsung hero” who doesn’t “toot her own horn.” Ms. Simpson is beloved by coworkers and students alike because of her dedication and love for her students—and she shows it every day. For 26 years Ms. Simpson has been striving to provide her students with an ideal learning environment.
A friend of Ms. Simpson also noted how she goes the extra mile to provide her students with supplies that will facilitate learning. She teaches an after school art class to help pay for teaching aides. She is also collecting box tops and everything else she can think of to help pay for a microphone and speaker that she needs because after so many years of teaching her voice isn’t as strong as it used to be. The way she approaches teaching causes her students to enjoy the subjects that she is teaching. Part of her success as a teacher most likely comes from the time she takes to get to know the children’s strengths and weaknesses. It has truly been an honor to recognize such a dedicated teacher. The staff at Christensen & Hymas applauds Ms. Simpson’s love of education, especially for the dedication she shows for her students.
Ms. Natalie Larsen is an English teacher at Lehi High School. Ms. Larsen teaches 10th and 11th grade English and has a genuine love for her students. One of her talents as a teacher is her ability to make learning fun but also effective. Ms. Larsen focuses a lot of energy on reading and tries to help her students develop a love of good books. Her students always learn a lot. One thing that sets Ms. Larsen apart is her focus on preparing her students for the huge change from high school to college.
Ms. Larsen knows that a truly good teaching job requires innovation and organizes a lot of group projects so that her students can actively help each other learn. Here at Christensen & Hymas we appreciate the effort Ms. Larsen spends educating and caring for her students. The children of today are the community leaders of tomorrow and thanks to the help of Ms. Larsen, we know our future leaders are in good hands.
