US Government Departments and Civilian Agencies Fully Enabled with Secure E-Signature Transactions on Mobile Devices

Silanis, the leader in enterprise electronic signature solutions with the largest e-signature deployments, has announced that its module Mobile e-Sign as part of the company’s e-Sign Enterprise platform, supports the Thursby PKard SDK, the Biometric Associates baiMobile SDK and the SIC Biometrics SDK, which all offer Common Access Card (CAC) and PIV smart card support for mobile devices. With DOD personnel and federal government employees requiring smart cards to authenticate to government websites, portals and networks, having Silanis’ e-signature technology built in will allow personnel for the first time to do more than simply access or view secure content but to also electronically sign documents.

Government bodies and agencies like the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, the GSA and the US Army G-3 are held as accountable for results as businesses and yet operate in circumstances where personnel are working remotely or in the field and need to be able to access government networks. Having previously had mobile functionality that consisted solely of email access, this new integration between Silanis’ e-signatures and CAC and PIV smart cards for mobile devices improves the US government and its agencies’ ability to complete all types of business, including task orders, officer evaluation report forms, contracts, statements of work, finance documents and other important agreements, moving government forward in real-time and enabling efficient and timely decision making.

Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) within Army G3 uses Silanis’ e-Sign Enterprise to validate and certify requests accelerating the munitions workflow process and increasing overall efficiency within the Army. “With Silanis’ e-signature solution supporting mobile devices, we’re eventually going to be able to sign and complete munitions requests wherever there is an internet connection,” said Bob Torche, Project Manager, Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS), G-3, Munitions Management Division. “This capability is essential in achieving any future BYOD strategy,” continued Torche.
