On Wednesday, December 5, from 6-8pm, Culintro ( will host a panel discussion focused on Restaurant Expansion at the Gabbaron Foundation (149 East 38th Street, New York, NY).

Three nationally renowned chefs and restaurateurs from across the country will speak about expanding their concepts to new markets. The discussion will provide firsthand insight into the benefits and challenges of restaurant expansion from operators who have navigated the process successfully. The speakers include Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese Food), Michael White (Altamarea Group) and Andy Ricker (Pok Pok). The conversation will be moderated by Anne McBride, author and director of the Experimental Cuisine Collective at New York University.

Danny Bowien is the Chef and co-founder of Mission Chinese Food in both San Francisco and New York City and a 2012 nominee for Rising Star Chef by the James Beard Awards. Michael White is the Chef and owner of Altamarea Group, which includes the restaurants Marea, Osteria Morini, Ai Fiori, Due Terre, Due Mari, Al Molo and Nicoletta, and in 2012, he received his third James Beard Award nomination for Best Chef, New York. Andy Ricker is the owner and executive Chef of Pok Pok, Ping, Whiskey Soda Lounge and Pok Pok Noi in Portland, Oregon, and Pok Pok NY and Pok Pok Wing in New York City. In 2011, he won a James Beard Award for Best Chef, Northwest.
