Inglewood, CA (PRWEB) November 28, 2012
International Supplies, leading distributors in the photo and video industry, plans to introduce a new line of LED lights at the upcoming 2012 PhotoPlus Expo, called Lumos. Built by the leading LED lighting company in South Korea, DMLite, Lumos offers high quality, powerful and versatile lighting solutions for photo shoots, and film, video and broadcast production. Its initial offering consists of two models, the Lumos 100, which is a small, yet extremely powerful portable light, and the Lumos 300 MK, which allows users to control both the color temperature and brightness without losing either light quality or energy efficiency. Although new to the U.S. LED lighting market, features like adjustable color temperatures and brightness, excellent color accuracy with extremely high color rendering indexes (CRI), and minimal color shift while dimming make Lumos’ LED lighting systems a serious contender in the world of photo and video LED lighting.
The portable Lumos 100 is available in either Daylight (5600K) or Tungsten (3200K). The 5600K model produces a lux rating of 280 at the same distance and a CRI of 90, while the 3200K model features a lux rating of 250 at a distance of 3.9 feet and a high CRI of 97. Users can also adjust brightness from 100% to 0 using the dimmer, with minimal color shift. The Lumos 100’s array of 84 LED’s consumes only 17 watts of electricity, making it highly energy efficient. It comes with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery that at one full battery charge, can last two hours continuously at 100% power and more than six hours at 50% power. Compact and lightweight, it measures 8.6 in. x 3.5 in. x 1 in. and weighs 1.08 pounds (lb), making it ideal for a wide range of jobs, everything from lighting inside a vehicle to a field interview.
The Lumos 300 MK provides users with even more control over color temperature and brightness, as both can be adjusted instantly using the two dials at the back of the unit. Color temperatures range between 3200K and 5600K, with a 3200K lux rating of 800 at 3.9 feet and a 5600K lux rating of 900 at the same distance. With CRI’s ranging between 92 Ra and 98 Ra, depending on the color temperature, users can expect precise color operation no matter what the environment. Its 288 LEDs consumes only 50 watts of electricity, and its Li-Ion battery can last three or more hours continuously at 100% power and more than six hours at 50%. Though unlike the Lumos 100, the battery for the 300 MK is sold separately. The 300MK weighs in at 2.2 lbs and measures approximately 12” x 12” square.
“Lighting is critical in the photo, video and broadcasting industry and Lumos LED lights undergo rigorous quality control and environment testing, including a six month aging test and a constant temperature test, to ensure they are the softest, most even, reliable and stable lights on the market,” says Doug Pircher, general manager of International Supplies.
Lumos stands out from other LED lighting systems in that it provides the highest CRI lighting in the industry with a maximum 98 Ra and can even be used in a Chromakey studio without any problem, whereas the others cannot. In addition to superb color accuracy, all Lumos lighting systems offer less glare, absolutely no greening effect, and minimal color temperature change over time. At most, the change in color temperature for both lights is plus or minus 100K at 3200K, and plus or minus 150K at 5600K, making them much more stable compared to their counterparts. Both come integrated with DMX.
The Lumos 100, both the 3200 and 5600K models, comes with an A/C adapter and a battery, and is sold at $840. The Lumos 300MK with adjustable color temperature and brightness comes with an A/C adapter and a battery bracket. Price is $2,400. The 300MK battery itself is sold separately for $420.
