(PRWEB UK) 29 November 2012

The Lord Mayor of Folkestone, Councillor Rodica Wheeler, took time out of her busy schedule on Monday 26th November to officially open a new business in the town.

Six jobs have been created in Folkestone with the new Halfords Autocentre opening. The new garage in Bouverie Road West is the latest garage to be opened by the national car repair, MOT network and is the first site to open in Folkestone.

In addition to creating jobs in the town Halfords Autocentres is making a six-figure investment in acquiring and equipping the centre, and the company is set to spend a further £15,000 per month with local suppliers, further boosting the region’s economy.

The company is also seeking to bring clarity for motorists by eliminating the jargon frequently spoken by mechanics. With nine out of ten car owners saying they are left bewildered by terminology used by garages, Halfords Autocentre is championing the use of ‘plain English’ and its Glossary of Garage Speak – an easy to understand guide of motoring industry terms – is available free of charge from the garage.

Manish Gokani, centre manager of the new Autocentre, comments: “We have a terrific opportunity here to build up the business, offering even more Folkestone motorists a trustworthy, friendly and value for money alternative.”

Lord Mayor Rodica Wheeler commented: “It was an honour to open the new Halfords Autocentre. It’s good to see a business expanding and the facilities at the garage are second to none. I spent some time with the technicians and they’re a really enthusiastic and friendly bunch, eager to do a good job for the people of Folkestone. I wish them every luck with their new business.”

Manish Gokani continues: “The investment gives us a fresh, purpose built space, equipped with the very latest technology and tools that enable us to service all makes and models of cars, old and new. It puts us in the very best position to meet the demand created by Folkestone motorists looking for a better deal. We’re working hard to lower the cost of motoring by providing main dealer quality at more affordable prices, something that is resonating strongly in these tough times.”
