By selling CCAR's™ cause-related offerings online at The Recovery Store™, we're extending our mission and generating a financial return at the same time.

Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery™, a leading national nonprofit organization that promotes recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction through advocacy, education and service, announced that it has launched The Recovery Store™ to sell its mission-focused products and services online.

Created as a social enterprise to help CCAR increase its margin so it’s better able to expand and grow its mission, The Recovery Store™ is a virtual retail marketplace that offers a variety of highly specialized and hard-to-find Recovery offerings in one place. The online retail emporium, located on the Web at https://shoprecovery.us, is filled with inspiring books and videos, recovery resources, trainings, merchandise, event tickets, and registration for trainings.

The Recovery Store was developed as CCAR’s response to the substantial market need and demand that existed for their popular and highly sought-after Recovery Coach Academy™, an intensive 5-day training for those interested in becoming a recovery coach. Each week, the CCAR team would receive several telephone and email inquiries from people across the country, all of whom were interested in purchasing the offering. With opportunities to expand their presence far beyond Connecticut and the Northeastern region of the United States where the RCA was currently being sold, it quickly became apparent to CCAR’s leadership that there was tremendous potential for margin and mission growth.

According to CCAR's Executive Director, Phillip Valentine, "The Recovery Store has given CCAR the opportunity to market and sell a wide array of offerings targeted to the Recovery community that extends far beyond Connecticut.” Mr. Valentine continued, “By selling our products and services nationally, we're extending our mission and generating a financial return at the same time.”

Since its recent online "grand opening", The Recovery Store has experienced immediate success. Traffic to the Web site and sales of product and service offerings have far exceeded the team's original early projections, and it appears likely the pattern will continue given the strong need and demand that exists for The Recovery Store's wide range of exclusive offerings. Already, CCAR has received orders from clients in fifteen states for its popular Recovery Coach Academy™, along with its books, videos, DVD's, and merchandise.
