After 5 years of joint development between Maxa Technologies Limited (trading as Maxa Solutions) and Nisyst, the system designed specifically for use in charity shops will be solely developed and supported by Nisyst. This transfer will ensure that the EPoS solution for charities will continue to be developed to meet the very specific requirements of the charity sector.
For current users it will ensure that they can continue to use the EPoS systems to process payments, control stock and share information within the charity shop setting and help with the vital work which a wide range of charities continue to carry out. Specific functions which have been designed for the charity sector are a key part in the software; helping volunteers carry out their work, logging donated goods and helping with the process of Gift Aid tax reclamation.
The process of reclaiming tax through Gift Aid is very important for charities and can be difficult to work out accurately, but with CHARiot EPoS the whole process is simplified. All the relevant information is tracked and recorded so that accurate figures can be given on the amount of tax to be reclaimed, greatly helping the charity raise money and helping those who need it the most.

All existing customers are being informed of the changeover, which will take advantage of having one company developing the software and answering any issues with use. This can help everyone involved, as Nisyst will be able to deal with customer enquiries directly and update the software to help clients get exactly what they and their customers want; making the software better as it is continually developed.
With charity shops becoming increasingly important across the country, the usage of CHARiot EPoS solutions from Nisyst is set to increase.
