“The character stripes help the kids by instilling good virtues, because being a good martial artist is more than just being able to fight” - Coach Timothy Spriggs

Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Elkridge based Martial Arts School announced, they will start pickup for any students at St. Augustine to their prestigious aftercare program.

Head instructor and owner, Julius Park gave the reasons for the change, "Crazy 88’s afterschool program has gained so much popularity and received such rave reviews that the demand from Elkridge parents became too much to ignore."

Crazy 88 BJJ has operated since 2005 and is the only martial arts school that consistently produces world champions and professional athletes in Howard County.

The system that produced World Champions and Pro Fighters is now being relayed to the Youth Program. The program focuses on both martial arts skills as well as good character. In the zero-tolerance for bullying environment, students are encouraged to work hard, stay focused, and work in teams.

“Students are moved up in belts rank based on their Martial Arts Skills and displaying good character through their Character Skills. Being focus, displaying leadership or being punctual are among the many good deeds we look for.” explains Timothy Spiggs, instructor and a top ranked Purple Belt Jiu-jitsu fighter in the world.

“The character stripes help the kids by instilling good virtues, because being a good martial artist is more than just being able to fight.”

The Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu aftercare program provides children with the opportunity for educational and athletic advancement. A knowledgeable and college educated staff like Tim Spriggs, will assist the children with their homework when they arrive at the academy.

What separates Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s afterschool program from any other aftercare program in the Baltimore area is the level of coaching the children will receive. All the instructors at Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu have professional and international level experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts. Some schools may be able to boast a world champion instructor at their academy, but most likely they got that instructor from somewhere else. At Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, all the instructors are “home grown”, meaning they came up in the system, and in Coach Tim’s instance from adolescence.

Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has an amazing track record of turning children into champions. As a member of Team Lloyd Irvin, Crazy 88 is a part of the best Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team in not only America, but also the World.
