IMPA to Launch 10 Economic Development Websites

Ady Voltedge worked with IMPA to develop 10 county economic development websites in Indiana.

The Indiana Municipal Power Association, along with providing municipal power generation in communities throughout Indiana and parts of western Ohio, also assists member communities with their economic development efforts. Part of that assistance was giving the 10 member counties an opportunity to market their region with their own economic development website while maintaining each community’s unique look and feel.

IMPA invested in websites since they are quickly becoming the primary source of information for site selectors, and they chose us because we work with those site selectors every day. They also chose Ady Voltedge because we understand that simply having a website isn’t enough – a website needs to have compelling content, useful, interactive features that provide the information that visitors are looking for and compatibility with mobile devices in order to be effective.

The process of developing 10 websites for 10 different counties simultaneously contained many moving parts and required constant collaboration between Ady Voltedge, IMPA and the individual counties. This collaboration included hands-on training and guidance, a la carte services and customized designs. The end result will be 10 websites showcasing each county by highlighting regional advantages using interactive features. To date four of the 10 websites have launched.

Ady Voltedge’s experience in economic development marketing is the result of working with dozens of economic development organizations on a variety of projects from research to websites to marketing collateral.

Janet Ady, president of Ady Voltedge, has been working alongside economic development organizations for more than 10 years and said having experience in economic development is critical to the company’s projects.

“Previous clients have said the last thing they want to do is educate their marketing consultant on economic development,” Ady said. “That isn’t necessary when working with Ady Voltedge so we can spend more time getting to know the client’s region and turning those assets into effective marketing communications.”

Ady Voltedge is an economic development marketing firm that helps community and economic development organizations retain, grow, and attract residents and businesses to its city or region. Based in Madison, Wis., Ady Voltedge’s clients include economic development organizations, convention and visitors’ bureaus, chambers, and municipalities as well as utilities, associations, cooperatives, state agencies and private companies.
