Women To Get NRA Sanctioned Orientation On Safe Handling Of Pistol From Range Master Tactical Gear

Range Master, a tactical gear and firearms retailer is providing safe firearm handeling instruction to women on the Central Coast of California. The classes include lessons on how to safely use a firearm, and instruction in their indoor shooting range.

Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling that will include the pistol parts and operation.

More and more women want to learn how to safely use hand guns for protection. Range Master, a local supplier of tactical gear will be offering a National Rifle Association, NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation class for women on Sunday, November 18th, 2012 and again on Sunday December 23rd, 2012.

“Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling that will include the pistol parts and operation. The correct type of ammunition, fundamentals of safe shooting practices and proper cleaning of the pistol.” LeeAnn Morgan, a spokesperson for Range Master said. “Range Master will also offer continued opportunities for, additional skill development and include both classroom and indoor shooting range instruction. Class participants may bring their own pistol, we will have ours for rent during the classes.”

The class will also include mandatory Basic Instructor Training (BIT). Pre-course tests will be required, and are administered at the start of the Sunday sessions. Students satisfactorily completing the trainings will be certified to teach both the Basic Pistol, and the First Steps Pistol Orientation courses.

Students who are successful in completing the entire course and become certified, will also receive a series of National Rifle Association instructor materials, and will be trained to conduct the NRA intensive lessons in safety and gun handling.

The purpose of this National Rifle Association Sanctioned Class, is to prepare future instructors to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and using a pistol safely according to the educational practices set forth by the NRA, for its Basic Pistol Shooting Course.

“Students will leave the class knowing about various types of pistols and the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship. They will be able to demonstrate various pistol firing positions, and present several practical exercises on the firing range for their students. Cleaning of the weapon and proper storage will be covered thoroughly. The training will wrap-up with a summary of various pistol sports and activities.” NRA Training Counselor, Ken Zachary stated.

Each student will receive a packet of NRA materials: A Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, National Rifle Association Gun Safety Rules brochure, and the Winchester NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, plus a FIRST STEPS course completion certificate.

Preregistration for the class is required and class size is limited to allow for personal one on one instruction. Cost of the class is $300. A nonrefundable deposit of $150.00, is required when your space is reserved for the class.
