On December 2nd, 2012, debt collection company, Rapid Recovery Solution, released a statement following a Chicago Tribune article by Andy Grimm, on Tinley Park joining a state debt collection program to collect on unpaid debts.

According to the Chicago Tribune article, “People who owe Tinley Park money could see their state tax refunds or lottery winnings shrink, as village officials favor joining a state debt collection program.” The article states that the Village Board has recently approved the first steps on their way to joining the Local Debt Recovery Program offered by the state. Treasurer Brad Bettenhausen stated, “I don’t see any disadvantage to the village participating.”

The article states that a random sample of accounts representing only a small piece of what the village is owed, shows that the village of Tinley Park may have collected an additional $1,500. According to the article, “the total amount collected can vary, as other government agencies might have claims against a debtor.”

John Monderine, CEO of debt collection company Rapid Recovery Solutions, knows how hard it can be to get people to pay their debts, and encourages using agencies or collection programs to get your owed money. “Joining a debt collection program, or hiring a collection agency like Rapid Recovery Solution, can really help you receive the debts that are rightfully owed to you.
