East Lancashire online florist, iflorist, is celebrating a blooming marvelous year, after scooping yet another prestigious business award.
Padiam-based iflorist came away with the Export Award at the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards 2012, as well as being shortlisted in the Innovation and Technology category.
The awards attracted over 100 nominations this year, and was the biggest in the event’s history.
This latest recognition comes hot on the heels of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, which was awarded to iflorist for their outstanding achievement in International Trade.
Managing Director David Price says: “It’s fantastic to see so many local businesses competing on a global stage.
“It is quite remarkable what we’ve achieved in an extremely difficult climate. We have grown our international business in excess of 200% in the last year alone and now have websites in ten languages and six currencies.
“In business terms the internet has made the world a smaller place, so we’ve used this technology as well as cultural knowledge to build country specific sites. Next year we envisage we’ll have over 70 websites all over the world.”
iflorist has also been shortlisted for three prestigious ecommerce awards this year, including Small e-Retailer of the Year, International e-Retailer of the Year and Best e-Retailer Delivery at the prestigious eCommerce Awards for Excellence 2012 in October, as well as in the consumer and leisure category of the 2012 Insider International Trade Awards in December.
