"We want to make it convenient for our guests to get online and share what they're doing."

Maine's oldest mountain is offering some of the newest technology. Shawnee Peak has expanded it's Wi-Fi availability and is providing it free to guests. Skiers and snowboarders now have the ability to check their emails and social networking accounts throughout the day.
"Everyone these days is plugged-in to a social network, we want to make it convenient for our guests to get online and share what they're doing," said Shawnee Peak's General Manager Ed Rock. "It's also a great way for those who want to stay in the lodge to stay connected."
The expanded, free Wi-Fi is just one of the many improvements the resort has made this season. Recently, the mountain announced it added an extra 60 feet to it's Magic Carpet and expanded it's beginner slope area. "It's all about serving our guests," said Rock, "we are confident Shawnee Peak delivers the best possible product!"
Weather permitting, the mountain is scheduled to open December 15th, for what will mark it's 75th year of operation.
