TR Information Services, a premier provider of Background Checks and Driving Records, has updated their web site and end user agreements to stay current with ongoing Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements.

We are committed to making sure all of our customers know about the changes in the FCRA forms before the effective date of January 1, 2013

The newly created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is now the agency primarily responsible for interpreting the FCRA. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) had been the agency responsible for interpreting the FCRA but the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act transferred rule-making authority from the FTC to the CFPB.

Effective January 1, 2013, three forms required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) have been updated. TR Information Services has updated its website with the new forms, as well as, incorporated the forms into their search results. “Our clients now have the option to print out pre-formatted disclosures forms with their company name and job applicant’s name. These forms include the updated FCRA information pre-adverse action, adverse action and consumer copy forms.” said Todd Mayers, Marketing Manager.

The 3 newly issued forms are:

1 - Summary of Consumer Rights under the FCRA
2 - Notice to Users of Consumer Reports
3 - Notice to Furnishers of Information of their Obligations under the FCRA

The changes in these forms are minor but beginning January 1, 2013 the old versions of these forms will no longer be acceptable.

TR Information Services has also added a compliance page to their web site with 4 simple steps to make sure that you are in compliance with the FCRA.

Since 1994, TR Information Services has been offering full service pre-employment screening including, but not limited to, Criminal Records, SSN Verifications, Employment/Education Verification Credit Reports and Driving Records. TR Information Services is also a proud member of the The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).
