A recent study shows that 65% of residents in Ontario & Wayne Counties use the print yellow pages first when looking for local business information.
The study, conducted by ITM Marketing (Coshocton, OH) in August 2012, covered cities including Canandaigua, Geneva, Victor, Ontario, Macedon, Farmington, Palmyra, Lyons, Williamson, Wolcott, Clifton Springs and Bloomfield. The study was initiated by Haines Publishing, Inc.
Residents were asked if they used their local yellow pages or the internet first when searching for a local business. The study showed 64% used the yellow pages first in Canandaigua, 81% in Geneva, 50% in Victor, 67% in Ontario, 46% in Macedon, 45% in Farmington, 80% in Palmyra, 84% in Lyons, 53% in Williamson, 74% in Wolcott, 62% in Clifton Springs and 54% in Bloomfield.
Overall the study revealed 65% use the yellow pages first, 35% use the internet first, 96% use both, 4% use the internet only and 26% do not have internet access at home.
The most used phone directory is the Haines Wayne & Ontario Counties Telephone Directory and the most used website is Google.
