Precision Language & Graphics Offers Label Translation and Compliance Services for Canada and Mexico

In addition to translation of product packaging, PLG offers compliance review services for companies wishing to sell products in Canada and Mexico.

As one of the few language service providers that offers label compliance services, PLG works hard to be a ‘total package’ translation agency.

Precision Language & Graphics, Inc. announces that it has extended its packaging translation and compliance review services into the Mexican Market. Previously, PLG offered compliance review services for Canada only. Mexico is the second largest importer of U.S. goods after Canada, purchasing billions in American electronics, transportation equipment and machinery – and increasingly food products such as beer and cheese. Due to this U.S. partnership with Canada and Mexico, PLG has seen an increase in requests for labeling review services from companies wishing to export to either country. 80% of the labels that PLG translates and reviews are food labels, but they also offer compliance services for retail and other consumer goods.

PLG leverages its rich experiences in Spanish and French translations and in-house Spanish- and French-speaking project managers to offer packaging translation services for Canada and Mexico. PLG began offering packaging translation services to Walmart and Michaels Stores in 1997, a big portion being holiday packaging, including Christmas, Easter and Valentine’s Day. PLG’s label translation services have extended into compliance review. Their expertise allows PLG’s clients to be confident that their products will be placed on Canadian and Mexican shelves quickly without the hassle of the packaging being deemed non-compliant and sent back to the U.S.

In Canada, food and beverage packaging regulations are set by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. In Mexico, regulations (called NOMs) are set by La Secretaría de Economía. For entry into Mexico, a certificate known as Constancia de Verificación (CDV) is required, but there is no such certificate required for entry into Canada. PLG has partnered with private and governmental agencies in Mexico and Canada to supply Canadian/Mexican labeling compliance review and the issuance of the Constancia certificate to clients in North America.

Eric Zhang, PLG’s Managing Director, has worked hard to bring these services to the company’s clients. “As one of the few language service providers that offers label compliance services, PLG works hard to be a ‘total package’ translation agency. We can provide this one-stop shopping experience encompassing translation, layout work and compliance review so that all the client needs to do is to ship the product to stores and start bringing in the profit,” said Eric.

After this expansion into the Mexican Compliance market, PLG plans on offering compliance review services for the Chinese market, another large trading partner of the United States.
