Tempe, Ariz. will play host to the Michigan State Spartans and the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs at the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on December 29, 2012 at Sun Devil Stadium. Make plans now to cheer for these Big Ten and Big 12 teams as they compete for the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl title. Kick-off is set for 8:15 p.m. MST and the game will be televised live to a nationwide audience on the ESPN Network.

Prior to the game, Michigan State and TCU fans won’t want to miss the Buffalo Wild Wings Tablegate from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on December 29. This ultimate tailgating experience will include Jumbotrons showing team highlights, interactive games, cheerleading and marching band performances. The $25 ticket price to the Buffalo Wild Wings Tablegate includes a plated meal. This pre-game party will be held in lot 3, adjacent to Sun Devil Stadium. Tempe’s Mill Avenue District is also a great gathering place for fans in the days leading up to the game. There are more than 100 restaurants, taverns and shops located in the Mill Avenue District, just a few blocks from Sun Devil Stadium.

Many bowl game fans will want to extend their trip through New Year’s Day. On New Year’s Eve, Mill Avenue restaurants and nightclubs will offer entertainment and extended premises for the night. Radio Disney will host a stage for families from 6-9 p.m. on Seventh Street, west of Mill Avenue. Children’s activities and a variety of food trucks also will be in the area. At 10 p.m., the stage will transition to live music from a favorite local band. There will also be two fireworks shows, at 9 p.m. and midnight.

Tempe Marketplace, a shopping and dining destination, is home to a New Year’s Eve pub crawl from 8 p.m. to midnight. Patrons will enjoy an Arizona-style “snow” fall near the District Stage, a champagne toast at participating restaurants at midnight and a chance to win a $1000 gift card.

Sunny Tempe is sure to treat fans to warm weather during the week of the bowl game. In addition to cheering for their favorite team and ringing in the New Year, fans can take a break from the winter cold and enjoy the outdoors. Hiking trails are located throughout the city, including “A” Mountain, Papago Park and South Mountain Park and Preserve. Visitors also enjoy going kayaking or paddle boarding on Tempe Town Lake or exploring the beautiful landscape at Desert Botanical Garden.
