Over two thirds of the adult population (a stunning 30m people) have not yet written a Last Will and Testament which means the state can decide how that persons belongings, property, and money will be shared, and quite often, not as the individual would have chosen, if they were still with us.

Stroke and coronary heart disease are the deadliest and most common reason to die. And more often than not, they are unexpected, giving us little time to prepare. Road traffic accidents are the most common reason for death in the 15-25 age range.

AutoWill on the Apple App store and Last Will and Testament on Android Google Play facilitate the user to write their Last Will and Testament in a structured legal way, providing a fully legal Last Will to protect their family and loved ones.

Most of us are aware of friends or acquaintances that have been involved in some bitter family disputes where the cause was no Last Will. And indeed many of us will be aware of people who have gained considerable funds that were not expected as a result of an outdated Will, or no Last Will at all.

Despite the UK treasury gaining over £50m of our intestate wealth every year, practically 70% of people still fail to complete this essential documentation. The most common reasons for not writing a Last Will and Testament include cost, complexity and just not getting around to it. AutoWill (Apple App store) and Last Will and Testament (Google Play) provide a solution by enabling the user to write and update their Last Will on the fly..

Costs of writing a Last Will and Testament can vary from a few hundred pound down to about £10 for a do-it-yourself type document available from stationers and the latter have sold in their millions.

The apps available on mobile devices are currently available and even cheaper at under £10, and provide real structure to the process making it exceedingly easy to write. And an additional benefit of performing this task on an app is that it only needs to be updated as ones life progresses and changes, not fully re-written each time.

"I developed an app for writing your Last Will and Testament, because there wasn't one on the App Store when I wanted to write my own Will" says Steve Power, the developer. "I researched the process, the documentation and the legal requirements, and then spent the next few months designing an app that would help people with this process."

As a Christmas special, the price of the apps will be lowered to £3.99 from 20th of December until 10th January 2013 for both Apple and Android versions.
