The band Bon Jovi was born in Sayreville, New Jersey in 1983 composed of five members. With Jon Bon Jovi as lead vocalist, Richie Sambora as lead guitarist, Alec John Such as bass guitarist, Tico Torres on drums and David Bryan on keyboards, the band has been able to maintain its original members through the years except for Alec John Such who left in 1994.

The band’s self-titled debut album was released in January of 1984. It included the hit single “Runaway” which reached top 40 in the Billboard 100. The album itself hit the 43rd spot in the Billboard 200, and soon after the band opened for Scorpions and Kiss.
Their third album Slippery When Wet which included their famous singles “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Living on a Prayer” was tagged as the best selling album of 1987 by Billboard and the band was awarded Favorite Rock Group and Favorite Pop/Rock Band at the People’s Choice Awards and American Music Awards, respectively.
After a brief separation in 1990, the band got back together in 1992 with a more mature rock sound and since then, Bon Jovi has moved on to achieve world-wide success and enjoying sold-out concert tours.
In 1994, Bon Jovi released their greatest hits album, Cross Road, which included their best-selling single ever “Always”. It managed to hold on to the top ten of Billboard 100 for six months and the album debuted at top spot in UK Charts. Bon Jovi received the Best Selling Rock Band Award at the World Music Awards.
Having won the Global Icon award in 2010 at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Bon Jovi is now preparing for a new world tour to promote their latest album, What About Now to be released in March 2013. The tour, entitled Because We Can – The Tour, will commence in February 2013.
