Bluelock, a certified VMware vCloud® Datacenter provider of Virtual Datacenters hosted in the public cloud, today announced it will support the VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace™. Bluelock customers will be able to deploy a host of cloud applications using a Bluelock-hosted deployment engine based on VMware vFabric™ Application Director™.
The VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace offers enterprise application solutions ready for download today. The vibrant partner ecosystem of ISVs provides capabilities for specific product categories such as networking, security, middleware, and packaged and open source applications. Systems integrators provide reference architectures for reduced implementation times that can be easily deployed on the Bluelock Cloud.
“Bluelock has been an important development partner in the VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace™,” said Shahar Erez, director, Application Management Products, VMware. “We look forward to working with Bluelock as we bring service providers together to offer a robust marketplace of enterprise applications on trusted cloud environments.”
"With VMware, we are enabling ISVs, SIs and Content Providers to publish cloud-ready applications or application architectures in the VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace," said Pat O'Day, CTO, Bluelock. "VMware vFabric™ Application Director™, hosted in the Bluelock Cloud, is an exciting solution that brings added ease of use for our customers who want to test and deploy enterprise applications in their Bluelock environments.”
Bluelock Virtual Datacenters take minutes to set up, either through the VMware vCloud Director®-based self-service interface or with Bluelock’s managed services team. Users can build new virtual machines (VMs) quickly from public and private catalogs of VM templates, or simply upload VMs they already have running in an environment. With Bluelock Virtual Datacenters, users can easily subtract and add capacity as they go, paying for only what is used. With the ability to upload and download any VMware-compatible workloads, users can easily migrate VMDK files to and from Bluelock’s public cloud. The solution is built on open standards with Open Virtualization Format (OVF) packaging for the transport of workloads and interoperability, with additional support for the VMware vCloud API.
