Mesothelioma Law Firm Selected to List of Top 2011 Product Liability Verdicts in Texas for Mesothelioma Verdicts

Texas Lawyer, a regional legal publication that is part of the national American Lawyer Media (ALM) network, has recognized Baron and Budd, one of the first law firms in the country to successfully handle a mesothelioma lawsuit, for achieving the two highest Texas product liability verdicts in 2011 for mesothelioma verdicts. Mesothelioma lawyer and Baron and Budd shareholder John Langdoc led trial efforts in both cases on behalf of patients and families who have been affected by mesothelioma. The list of top verdicts is compiled by VerdictSearch, an independent reporting entity owned by ALM, and published by regional legal publication Texas Lawyer. The full list appeared in a supplement of Texas Lawyer.

“We always work tirelessly on behalf of every one of our mesothelioma clients,” said John Langdoc, mesothelioma attorney at Baron and Budd. “It's really great to see that hard work for some of these incredible families resulted in two of the top Texas product liability verdicts in 2011."

In 2011, a jury awarded the family of Mr. Henderson $9 million in Henderson v. Dow Chemical, which was chosen as the highest Texas product liability verdict in 2011. The case was filed on behalf of the late Mr. Henderson, his wife and two children. Baron and Budd mesothelioma attorneys John Langdoc and Alana Kalantzakis represented the family at trial.

Also in 2011, an $8.4 million mesothelioma verdict was awarded in Gensler v. Hercules, Inc., chosen as the second largest product liability verdict in Texas in 2011. This case was brought on behalf of Mr. Gensler, deceased, and his widow. This verdict is believed to be the first asbestos-related verdict reached against Hercules for exposure to asbestos at a Dow Chemical plant. Mesothelioma attorneys John Langdoc and Alana Kalantzakis represented family at trial.

Baron and Budd was one of the first law firms to successfully handle a mesothelioma case and continues to fight for mesothelioma and asbestos patients today. Throughout the firm’s nearly 40 year history, Baron and Budd has achieved more than 100 verdicts for asbestos patients and numerous settlements.
